EUREKA — Taylor Daly scored a pair of goals and Yesenia Diaz added another one as Mendocino College logged its fourth consecutive shutout, 3-0, over College of the Redwoods on Friday in Eureka.
Julie Jackson, Brittany Castaneda and Megan Daly all had assists as the Eagles improved to 6-1-1.
“Candy (Diener) was all over the place today,” Mendocino College assistant coach Pat Hart said of the former Clear Lake High School All-League keeper. “Our defense played really well.”
Other than a short spell in the first half, Hart said the Eagles turned in a solid overall effort.
“We had about 10-15 minutes there where we played like College of the Redwoods, but once we got back to our own game we did fine,” Hart said.
