BOONVILLE — Anderson Valley scored three times in the first eight minutes and led 7-0 after one half before finally beating the Clear Lake Cardinals 11-3 in a non-league varsity boys” soccer game on Monday in Boonville.
Tyler Soderling, Diego Bernardino and George Reyes all scored in the second half for Clear Lake (0-4). Matt Stegman assisted on Soderling”s goal.
“We still have a long way to go before we are competitive,” Clear Lake coach Brian Figg said. “Anderson Valley is so quick, but they”ve got a lot of different methods to attack you.”
Down 7-0 after one half, the Cardinals set a goal of winning the second half and almost did that, according to Figg.
“We wanted to turn it around and we did,” Figg said.
Clear Lake hosts Kelseyville (2-0) today at 4:30 p.m.
