What is the problem with the writers and editors at the Record-Bee? I don”t know what the editor is thinking there, but this paper has become a bungling pile of rubbish.
There are thugs committing crimes. Hoodlums are in the streets and these Indian casinos. Potheads are out of control. Corruption is obvious. A county supervisor has been allowed to keep his duties in the face of pounds of marijuana at his ranch. A sheriff”s deputy continues work and keep his wages after running over a woman in a boat. Extravagant renovations in downtown Lakeport carry on with the city facing deficits and cutbacks.
Why is the newspaper not investigating these affairs? Where are the flaming editorials?
And then, there are our state”s numerous budget problems, which cost many providers here hundreds of dollars in delayed payments and overextended credit, and threaten vital services to hundreds of our citizens.
And, we are witness to our nation”s biggest financial debacle since the Great Depression. Gas and milk prices have gone through the roof, and we are in the midst of a national election. And no one can afford to go to the doctor”s office or get vital medicines without paying an arm and leg.
None of this news is ever in the paper.
But, time and again, I read the Record-Bee to find people writing about their neckties, hitchhikers, college professors, social clubs, philosophy, and the latest books they”ve been reading. New York City is not in Lake County, and why does the editor have to place poetry in the newspaper? This is not news.
Yet, these subjects are what is considered important by the writers and editors at the Record-Bee. No one cares about this nonsense and pablum. These articles have been a meandering and rambling waste of time and space. This community deserves better than a Mickey Mouse newspaper that has become not worth the paper its delivered on.
