UPPER LAKE – The Upper Lake Cougars didn”t waste any time Friday night against the Geyserville Bronchos in a non-league varsity volleyball match at Upper Lake High School.

With Jackie Lovrin and Hannah Johnson leading the way, the Cougars made quick work of the Bronchos, winning 25-11, 25-19, 25-16. Lovrin served up seven aces and had five kills as the Cougars, playing their second match in as many nights, bounced back from a tough four-game loss to Lower Lake on Thursday. Johnson led the Cougars with seven kills and she also had six aces and one block.

Upper Lake also prevailed in the minimum number of games in junior varsity action, defeating Geyserville 25-23, 25-15 behind 10 aces by Emily Knispel, who also had two kills.

Both Upper Lake teams are home Tuesday to play Kelseyville.
