LAKEPORT — The Main Street Gallery”s First Friday Fling”s reception for the artists, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct.3, will feature five new artists: Bill Blum displaying his finely crafted and whimsical wood pieces, fine oils by Sunny Franson, Sharon Fenton”s beautifully-executed watercolors, and acrylics and pastels by Shelby Posada.

Continuing in the October show are Lewis Turman and Don Speed in metal, Linda Fielding in acrylic, Odile Epps in watercolor, and Reggie Meyers and Nicol Kriz in oil, with Lozja Mattas displaying photography. Jewelry by Gigi Kroll and Sabrina round out this diverse show.

The Linda Carpenter Gallery will have a bright new look as it welcomes the work of students from the Middletown Unified School District. Under the creative instruction of Linda Prather, 18 students will be showing their watercolor paintings of Lake County pears. Under the tutelage of David Leanord, 28 third-grade students will present self portraits in pastel based on their study of Picasso. The Gallery is pleased to have this opportunity to present these new and experimenting artists in Lake County.

The very popular and talented David Neft will further enhance the evening festivities as you browse the work of local artists in our Gift Shop, sample finger food, enjoy the fine wines of Terrill Cellar and meet the featured artists and mingle with other artists and art lovers.
