MCKINLEYVILLE — Upper Lake High School sophomore Michael Dolan finished 12th overall and junior teammate Ben Mullin came in 15th on Saturday during the annual Clam Beach Invitational cross country meet in McKinleyville.
Eighteen Upper Lake runners participated in the meet.
Skyler Thomas of Mendocino won the varsity boys” race and Andrew Zellman of Ukiah finished second.
Upper Lake”s Brandon Lovrin came in 19th in the junior varsity boys” race.
The Cougars camped out in the rain Friday night at Patrick”s Point State Park.
Large waves covered the course on Friday night, making times slow and the running conditions difficult. Most of the runners compete barefoot.
The Cougars host a four-team meet Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
