UKIAH — Yessenia Diaz scored in the first half for Mendocino College and the Eagles settled for a 1-1 tie with Shasta College in a non-conference women”s soccer game Tuesday afternoon in Ukiah.
Diaz scored after an assist from Julie Jackson.
Shasta tied the game late in the first half on a goal by Hannah Brown.
Mendocino allowed only two shots on goal in the second half, both saved by keeper Chelsea Belden. Candy Diener played the first half at keeper and stopped four shots, including a penalty kick.
Mendocino is 7-6-2 overall.
The Eagles resume their conference schedule next Tuesday at home against College of Marin at 4 p.m.
