ADAMS SPRINGS — Lisa Copeland of Middletown won the inaugural Coastal Mountain Conference Girls” Golf Championship on Tuesday, shooting a round of 77 that included two birdies at Adams Springs Golf Course on Cobb Mountain.

While the CMC plays its regular season in the spring, girls” golf in the remainder of the North Coast Section is contested in the fall sports season. By winning the CMC Girls” Championship, Copeland advances to the NCS Girls” Finals on Oct. 27 at Oakmont in Santa Rosa. If she finishes in the top 12 there, she”ll move on to the Tournament of Champions the following week, also at Oakmont.

Because no CMC Championship existed a year ago, Copeland received permission to compete in the Sonoma County League Championships, which she won.

Finishing second to Copeland on Tuesday was Kelseyville High School”s Liz Berry, who fired a 97. Berry also advances to the Oct. 27 sectional tournament.
