Three of six candidates in the run for seats on the Clearlake City Council have filed their campaign expenditure statements. Incumbents Curt Giambruno, Joyce Overton and Judy Thein have submitted their filings with Clearlake City Clerk Melissa Swanson.
Estella Creel, James Reed and Bill Shields, who are also on the ballot for the Nov. 4 election, have not filed statements regarding campaign expenditures.
Overton filed the Officeholder and Campaign Statement short form on Oct. 6, 2008. She declares under penalty of perjury that to the best of her knowledge she anticipates that she will receive less than $1,000 and will spend less that $1,000 during the calendar year.
Giambruno and Thein filed their statements on July 22, 2008 declaring the same as Overton.
According to Swanson, candidates are only required to file if they intend to spend or receive money in relation to their campaigns for election. Swanson reported on Wednesday that the three incumbents have been the only candidates to file the Officeholder and Candidate Statement forms in this election process.
