MIDDLETOWN — Kayla Wood”s 12 kills, three blocks and five aces propelled Middletown to a 25-23, 25-17, 25-18 victory over the Willits Wolverines in North Central League I North varsity volleyball action on Thursday night in Middletown.
Kelsey Guzman added four kills and four blocks and Kayla Robinson had four kills for Middletown (4-1). Sara Tucker had 10 assists.
Willits fell to 2-3.

Clear Lake def. Lower Lake
At Lakeport, Jesse Sondag”s 15 kills and seven digs led Clear Lake past Lower Lake 25-23, 27-25, 25-23 in NCL I interlock action.
Danielle Howard added six kills and two blocks, Teresa Coliva had five kills and Rylie Gabehart had 10 service points.
Darlena White”s 13 kills paced Lower Lake and Renita Gilliam added seven kills.
St. Helena def. Upper Lake
At Upper Lake, the St. Helena Saints improved to 5-0 in the South standings with a 25-18, 25-13, 27-25 victory over the Cougars (2-3).
“We started off OK, but they kind of turned it on and we went a little flat,” Upper Lake coach Sandy Coatney said.
Jackie Lovrin led the Cougars with six kills and Hannah Johnson had five aces.
Kelseyvville def. Fort Bragg
At Fort Bragg, NCL I North leader Kelseyville improved to 5-0 with an easy 25-15, 25-12, 25-16 victory over the winless Fort Bragg Timberwolves (0-5).
Annie Macias led the Knights with 12 aces and Kaitlyn Goff registered 13 kills. Also turning in solid performances were Kendra Schwegerl with seven kills and three blocks and Ashley Mueller and Maille McCallister with four kills apiece.
