KELSEYVILLE — Behind 14 kills, three aces and 13 digs from senior Kaitlyn Goff, the Kelseyville Knights beat Lower Lake 25-18, 25-20, 25-18 on Thursday night to clinch no worse than a tie for the North Central League I North volleyball championship.

Kelseyville (7-0) can secure the undisputed title with a victory Tuesday night in Middletown against the Mustangs (5-1), whose only league loss was to Kelseyville earlier this month.

It was the final home match of the regular season for Kelseyville.

Annie Macias had five aces for the Knights and setter Maille McCallister turned in a strong effort, according to Kelseyville head coach Donelle McCallister.

Renita Gilliam had six kills and three blocks for Lower Lake.

Clear Lake def. St. Vincent

At Lakeport, Clear Lake improved to 5-1 in the South standings with a 25-17, 23-25, 25-12, 25-16 victory over St. Vincent (0-7).

Sophomore Jesse Sondag had 27 kills and three aces to lead Clear Lake. Other leaders were Danielle Howard with seven kills, Claire Mansell with 11 points and seven digs, and Briana Butcher with 15 points and three kills.

Middletown def. Fort Bragg

At Middletown, Kayla Wood”s 12 kills, four aces and two blocks propelled Middletown past Fort Bragg in NCL I North action.

Middletown (5-1) can move into a virtual tie for first on Tuesday with a home win against Kelseyville (7-0).

Kelsey Guzman”s seven kills and two blocks, Jessica Boylan”s five kills and Sara Tucker”s 12 assists also figured prominently in Middletown”s win.

Willits def. Upper Lake

At Willits, Willits defeated Upper Lake in NCL I interlock play 26-24, 25-12, 17-25, 25-16.

For Upper Lake, Jackie Lovrin had eight kills and 10 digs, Katy DeVries added eight kills and five blocks, and Brandy Claunch had 19 assists.

Clear Lake 2, St. Helena 2 (tie)

At Lakeport, Clear Lake scored two goals in the first half and St. Helena answered with two goals in the second half to secure a tie in the NCL I South finale for both teams.

Clear Lake and St. Helena finish tied for second in the South standings at 4-2-2. Both clubs should advance to the Class A playoffs next week as at-large teams.

Anisa Green and Telia Paskaly scored for Clear Lake.

Upper Lake 1, Cloverdale 1 (tie)

At Cloverdale, in her final game as Upper Lake”s head coach, Ana Santana watch the Cougars earn a tie with Cloverdale.

Yessica Ayala”s goal in the second half pulled Upper Lake (0-7-1) even after Clovredale had gone up 1-0 in the first half.

Standouts for the Cougars were Stephanie Tregea, Laura Wold and Amanda Wright.

St. Vincent 5, Kelseyville 1

At Kelseyville, Monique Santana”s goal gave Kelseyville a 1-0 lead, but NCL I South champion St. Vincent went on to win the interlock contest.

Rain in the first half helped slow down St. Vincent, according to coach Mark Andre.

Standouts for the Knights were Morgan Shannon and Amanda Mueller, according to Andre.

Boys” soccer

Kelseyville 2, St. Vincent 1

At Petaluma, Kelseyville”s Ivan Rodriguez scored with an assist from Eddie Ledesma in the second half to snap a 1-1 first-half tie and lift the Knights to a victory in their season finale.

Luis Macias scored in the first half for Kelseyville (9-5-1).

St. Helena 3, Clear Lake 1

At St. Helena, Josh Espinoza scored early in the second half to pull Clear Lake into a 1-1 tie, but the NCL I South-champion Saints rallied to beat the Cardinals in the league finale for both teams.

Robert Anderson had the assist on Espinoza”s goal.

Clear Lake finishes the season 2-5-1 in the South and 5-13-1 overall.
