MIDDLETOWN — Kiley Agapoff”s hat trick and two more goals from sister Kaitlin Agapoff powered the Middletown Mustangs past the Lower Lake Trojans 7-1 in the North Central League I North girls” soccer finale for both teams on Thursday in Middletown.

Middletown (6-0-2 North, 14-1-3 overall) secured a league co-championship with the victory and will meet Fort Bragg (6-0-2) in a playoff today at 2:30 p.m. to determine which North co-champion gets an automatic berth in next week”s North Coast Section Class A playoffs. The loser will apply for an at-large berth.

Rain fell throughout the game Thursday, according to Owens, who said it would be good practice for today”s contest in Fort Bragg.

“The weather report said it”s going to rain all day up there,” Owens said.

Whatever happens to the Mustangs the remainder of the season, they already own the best soccer record in school history.
