Yes, I”ve mailed my ballot in yet I feel heavy and here”s why:

By one estimate $2.5 billion will be spent once the presidential election bills are tallied. A goodly portion of this will pay for attack ads, while both candidates, the vice president hopefuls and staffs continue flailing away at each other verbally during campaign appearances. No candidate can rightfully claim he/she is committed to working for peace for they are at war, and some of the ads and some of the speeches are “dirty” bombs. As in all wars the election will produce both victors and vanquished, and I see that by voting I, too, am supporting war.

It is a heaviness that the vast majority of us continue speaking of Obama as being “black” when his mother is “white”. For those who insist on colorizing Obama, why not call him “half-black” or “half-white” or “brownish”, as most of us are? Or how about just calling Obama Obama as we call McCain McCain.

Obviously, most of us are still infected by the disease of racism, though I cheer up when I realize the remedy for this sickness is being ardently applied right now as the billions of us continue sexing, spawning progeny who make it increasingly difficult to label each other.

Meanwhile, breathe deeply, feel fully and vote with your heart.
