PETALUMA — Coming off an emotional win Tuesday night in Middletown, the Kelseyville High School varsity volleyball team struggled a bit in its regular-season finale Thursday, beating St. Vincent 25-22, 24-26, 25-15, 29-27 in North Central League I interlock action.
Kelseyville clinched the outright NCL I North title with its win Tuesday in Middletown and the Knights will learn on Sunday where they”ve been seeded in the North Coast Section Division IV playoffs, which begin next week. As North champions, Kelseyville is likely to open at home on Wednesday against an opponent to be determined.
St. Vincent finished last in the NCL I South season, failing to win any of its eight matches.
“To St. Vincent”s credit they played well and dug up everything,” Kelseyville coach Donelle McCallsiter said.
Kaitlyn Goff, playing her final regular-season match for the Knights, led the way with 13 kills, 24 digs and two aces. Chelsea DeJohn added 11 digs and three aces, Maille McCallister had 14 digs, Annie Macias contributed five aces and Ashley Mueller had seven kills.
Kelseyville”s junior varsity squad lost in two games.
