I certainly have mixed emotions regarding the news article in the November 1 Record Bee about Edge Community Church holding its last service on November 2. I have only visited Edge a few times because of my responsibilities as pastor of a church on the north shore, but I have recommended the church to many people. They had great leadership, a proper vision of direction and ministry, and a congregation that experienced good worship and true Biblical preaching.
What a great attitude expressed in the news article that stated “God had accomplished what He wanted with Edge,” and “will accomplish what he wants to accomplish by sending us into other local fellowships to continue His work.”
Too few churches are sensitive enough to God”s leading to recognize when He chooses to lead a congregation in different directions. Also, what a great attitude to encourage the congregation to become involved in other churches to spread out their God-given talents.
May God continue to work in and through the dispersed members as they “Go into all the world.”
