LAKEPORT — An unidentified man was injured in a Wednesday afternoon structure fire that gutted a mobile home on Mission Rancheria Road, according to Lakeport volunteer firefighter Brian Hirscher, who was the incident commander.

“The trailer was fully involved when we got here. It looks like a total loss,” Hirscher said.

He said the man suffered burn injuries and was taken by ambulance to meet a REACH helicopter, but did not know where he was being taken. Hirscher said it is also unknown whether the injured man was inside the home, or whether he lived there or was a neighbor.

Two Lakeport Fire Protection District engines responded at 4:06 p.m. along with one engine from the Kelseyville Fire Protection District. Four Lake County Sheriff deputies were also at the scene. Hirscher said the flames were out in approximately 10 minutes, and crews were mopping up while smoke rose from the structure at 4:35 p.m.

“I don”t know where it started. At this point, it”s too early to say,” Hirscher said.
