Those that will be doing research on the plus and minus of using GE Ag products need to read what Monsanto did in India, and the results of there actions to the farmers there. Monsanto lobbyist are working in many state”s, promoting this product, paying big bucks to state and county officials to trust in their data that this will be a good thing for farmers to use, for greater profits.
The future cost of these products to the world”s consumers, if they monopolize the seed industry will indeed raise the cost of the world”s grain supply for both human and animal consumption. I think that small counties like Lake, need to restrict their use, until far greater research is done, as to what such products use will have on mankind as a whole. When this issue comes to a head ? and it will ? Monsanto will point to all the areas who have bought into their grand plan, as a reason to overcome the negatives of their program on this and other countries they are developing a footing in.
Lake County, as small as it is, should hold back its approval, until more information, facts, and studies have been done on all the effects to mankind in general, and not just the promised profits to the AG industry. This is a very important issue with far reaching effects on us and our grand children.
