UPDATED:

Obviously, Mr. Ridgel, America has rejected the tired old vitriolic rantings of fear and hate-mongering, far right, radical Republicans. Obama was elected by Americans of many colors, religions and socio-economic levels.

What are the chances in our media-driven society that the president-elect hasn”t been thoroughly investigated by now?

Barack Obama didn”t just squeak by to get elected. His opponent was soundly beaten. He wasn”t elected hecause he is African-American hut because a majority of voters were inspired to take the high road to hope and recovery instead of sliding down a slippery slope to a murky swamp of inept government and empty promises similar to what we”ve experienced for the past eight years under the “regime” of Bush-Cheney.

Even some Republicans might have had a little trepidation ahout voting for an aging candidate who chose a less-than-ahle running mate.

With no illusions that it will be a simple task, Americans must learn to trust their goverment again. Hopefully, Obama, with his high intellect and measured consideration of people and issues, will be the leader our country needs.
