KELSEYVILLE ? Wild goats were to blame for a break-in Thursday morning at a Glebe Road vacation home in Kelseyville, according to a report from the Lake County Sheriff”s Office.
A deputy responded to an alarm at the home at 8:20 a.m. and found several windows shattered and window screens shredded. He saw something move behind the house while checking the perimeter, and spotted two goats ? one large with horns and the other “relatively small,” according to the report.
“When the deputy confronted the goats, the fled the property,” Captain James Bauman of the LCSO wrote in a press release.
Goat droppings were found outside and inside the house. When the deputy contacted an unidentified neighbor to determine who owned the goats, she told him the goats were apparent strays that had previously damaged another home in the area.
