For those who understand infrared absorption the global warming issue is the crime, blunder or science fraud of the century. Now the English government is talking about cutting power production 21%. Politicians have the gall to say this will have no effect on the economy! Take one-fifth of the gas out of your tank and see how far you go. It is just that simple.
Carbon dioxide has been demonized by NASA scientist James Hansen. Many others have conspired with him seeing this as the greatest opportunity for increased science funding since JFK sold America the moon missions which were a total waste.
Atmosphere gases include: nitrogen, 78%, oxygen 18%, water vapor 3% and trace gases, 1% including carbon dioxide 0.038%, much smaller amounts of methane, helium, neon and argon.
Nitrogen and oxygen are transparent to infrared, heat energy from sunlight capturing none of it. Water vapor is a very good absorber of IR, heat energy. Carbon dioxide is only one-eighth an IR absorber as water vapor and responsible for only 0.065% of the infrared, IR, heat energy absorption of air. Water vapor absorbs 99.94% of all heat energy from sunlight by air.
Water vapor is ubiquitous, cannot be controlled or taxed. Carbon dioxide is a product of 90% of all energy produced on this planet. The control and taxing of carbon is the greatest opportunity for political power in a modern economy as nearly all energy comes from carbon combustion to drive our economy.
Now all we need to do is repair our textbooks, give the boot to some liars at NASA, rescind some Ph.D.s and get on with burning more fossil fuel. We have only scratched the reserves. God save the Queen.
