Boys” bracket

Pinewood 80, Kelseyville 57

Division V powerhouse Pinewood knocked tournament host Kelseyville into the loser”s bracket in first-round boys” action.

“They were quicker than us at the guard spots and they drove the paint at will in the second half,” Kelseyville coach Scott Conrad said.

Kelseyville (0-2) was able to stay in the game with a late run in the second quarter that made it a 12-point contest ? 41-29 at halftime. But Pinewood came out red-hot in the second half and hit a series of shots to put the game away.

“We did a lousy job of finding the shooter and we did a lousy job of stopping the ball,” Conrad said.

But even had the Knights played a better game, Conrad said beating a team the caliber of a Pinewood is a tall order.

“It”s a team were” going to have to be nearly perfect against to beat,” he said.
