Are scientists wrong or fraudulent on global warming?
Response to Dr. John Zebelean (Record-Bee, December 5), sorry if I offended your hero James Hansen, but I say again that he is committing the greatest science fraud in history and the leading experts agree with me. They include Dr. S. Fred Singer, former head of the US Weather Bureau for 30 years, then Chair of the Department of Atmospheric Science, University of Virginia, Dr. Robert Essenhigh, emeritus Chair, Department of Atmospheric Science, University of Ohio and Dr. William M. Gray, University of Colorado, the leading expert on hurricane prediction.
My figures on the percentages of gases in the atmosphere are accurate to two figures of significance. You offered no corrections. My remarks with respect to the absorption spectra are confirmed by the NASA website at http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Library/Giants/Tyndall/ where in paragraph three, sentence two, you will see, “He concluded that among the constituents of the atmosphere, water vapor is the strongest absorber of radiant heat and is therefore the most important gas controlling Earth”s surface.”
You will find similar material in many places if you input the string “water vapor global warming” to Google where you will get 145,000 hits with articles very like mine to which you so strongly, and wrongly, object.
It is amazing to me how many people claiming Ph.D.s can be so incredibly ignorant or obtuse.
