In response to the question from Adrian Vance, (Record Bee Dec. 9th). Those supporting this scam are clearly wrong and also fraudulent. To keep it simple, the sun controls the temperature on our planet, it has for millions of years and will continue to do so. The carbon dioxide contributed by man (during our “brief” visit to the planet) does not even qualify for a rounding error regarding its influence on our globe”s temperature. In spite of the facts, many scientists (to gain grants and swim with the current) support this greatest of all scams ? it is the politically-correct thing to do.
The costs associated with this save-the-planet scheme far exceed all the costs associated with the giant bailouts we are all struggling with. (In fact global-warming costs add to the woes of our auto industry.) In addition to monetary costs there are quality of life costs as we are asked to sacrifice to prevent global warming. Third world countries that could use a diesel generator to provide power, are forced to use less effective options which limit growth and human safety/comfort.
While we face significant economic challenges on a national, state, and local level we have politicians wasting large amounts of money on preventing global warming ? a fool”s game. Including our terminator-gone-astray governor who continues to fund these efforts while our state approaches bankruptcy. Our president-elect continues to list climate change as a top national priority? These leaders seem to be unable to accomplish the most simple tasks let alone trying to change the climate of our planet. Tell your politicians at all levels to leave the climate alone and work on more realistic and urgent goals.
