LAKE COUNTY — A vehicle collision on Highway 20, Wednesday afternoon, resulted in minor injuries. According to Clear Lake area California Highway Patrol, wet weather conditions contributed to the head-on collision.

Margie Hoff, 82, of Sacramento, sustained minor injuries when she lost control of the 2004 Ford Focus she was driving and collided head-on with a 1981 Ford F150, driven by Vincente Neito, 27, of Monroe, Wash.

According to the CHP, Hoff was driving westbound on Highway 20 west of Walker Ridge Road, when she failed to properly negotiate a right curve in the roadway. She reportedly lost control of her vehicle and entered the eastbound lane where the front of her car hit the right side of Neito”s truck. Both vehicles came to rest in the eastbound lane.

Hoff was transported to St. Helena Hospital ? Clearlake were she was treated for minor injuries sustained in the collision. Neito”s passenger, Marcelino Pena, 28, of Snohomish, Wash., also sustained minor injuries; however, did not require medical transport.

The incident is being investigated by Officer Brian Engle. Preliminary report suggests that Hoff may have been traveling too fast for road conditions.
