ANTIOCH — A 15-4 fourth quarter powered the Kelseyville High School varsity girls” basketball team to a 45-33 win over Berean Christian of Walnut Creek in the consolation championship game of the Agate Division on Tuesday at the West Coast Jamboree in Antioch.

The West Coast Jamboree involves more than 140 girls” teams, all competing in eight-team divisions.

Kendra Schwegerl”s 11 points sparks the Knights (8-5), who won their final two games in the tournament. Kelseyville took a 30-29 lead into the final period.

Ashley Mueller, Amanda Mueller and Skyler Olsen each had six points for the Knights.

Kelseyville 56, Mariposa 22

A strong first half propelled Kelseyville past Mariposa in the consolation semifinals on Monday morning.

Kelseyville”s win followed a 46-38 loss to Bret Harte in opening-round action on Saturday.

“We came ready to play this morning,” Kelseyville coach Caitlin Andrus said of the Monday win over Mariposa, which scored only 10 first-half points against the Knights. “We had a great warm-up and started out with more of a spark. We ran our transition well.”

Kelseyville scored 18 points in the second quarter to open up a commanding 31-10 halftime lead.

Ashley Mueller led a balanced Kelseyville offense with 11 points, Maille McCallister joined her in double figures with 10 points, and Olsen and Amanda Mueller added eight apiece.

Bret Harte 46, Kelseyville 38

In the first-round loss to Bret Harte, the Knights dug themselves a 27-10 halftime hole and couldn”t recover despite a strong second half by Amanda Mueller, who scored 12 of her team-leading 14 points in the final two quarters.

“We had a good practice going into the game and seemed ready, but didn”t show up to play until the fourth quarter,” Andrus said.

The Knights also shot just 10 percent from the free-throw line.

Olsen had eight points in the loss.

Other teams in Kelseyville”s division were St. Vincent, Bay School, Holy Names and Anderson.
