CLEARLAKE — A Clearlake man was arrested Monday evening following a vehicle accident on Burns Valley Road. Robert Lee Robaugh, 55, reportedly faces charges for felony DUI causing injury and child endangerment.

According to Clearlake Police Lt. Mike Hermann, officers responded following report of the incident at 7:11 p.m. Investigation of the incident reportedly determined that Robaugh was intoxicated and crashed the 1999 Honda Civic he was driving. “There was damage to the side of his vehicle. He apparently struck shrubbery and other inanimate objects on the side of the road,” Lt. Hermann said.

A 16-year-old female, who was passenger in Robaugh”s vehicle, was transported via Lake County Fire Protection District ambulance to Sutter Hospital ? Clearlake for treatment of unknown injuries and complaint of pain.

“Robaugh was charged with child endangerment for driving while intoxicated with a child in his vehicle,” Lt. Hermann said. “Most people don”t realize that when they are driving while intoxicated with a child in the car that they can be charged with additional crimes, including child endangerment.”

Robaugh was booked into Lake County Jail and the case has been forwarded to the District Attorney”s Office for prosecution. Robaugh is due to answer to the charges today in court.
