NICE — A parole search conducted on a residence on Highway 20 in Nice Monday morning resulted in the arrests of three people including a woman who provides bail bonds service in Lake County. Marcia Ann Morris, 56, of Upper Lake along with parolees Jeffrey Boulerice, 38 and Joel Martin Langan, 51, were reportedly arrested on charges involving alleged drug violations.
According to Lake County Sheriff Lt. Dave Garzoli a parole search was conducted at 8:55 a.m. on the home where Boulerice and Langan live. During the course of the search, Deputy Steve Herdt reportedly located a jacket that allegedly contained a small baggy of methamphetamine in one of the pockets. A Marcia Morris bail bonds business card folded into a “bindle” allegedly containing a quantity of methamphetamine was also reportedly located in the same pocket. According to Garzoli”s report, Morris claimed the methamphetamine and told the deputy that she had just began using the drug about two months ago.
Items of address with Boulerice”s name on them were also reportedly found along with a spoon and syringe that allegedly contained evidence of intravenous drug use and a small amount of methamphetamine.
Items with Langan”s name on them were also reportedly found along with a syringe and two glass pipes used for ingesting methamphetamine.
Morris was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. According to Lake County Jail, Morris posted bond, which was set at $10,000, the same day and was released. She is due back in court on Feb. 23.
Boulerice was arrested for possession of a hypodermic syringe, possession of methamphetamine and violation of parole. Langan was arrested for possession of paraphernalia, possession of a syringe and violation of parole. Both men are being held at Lake County Jail on a parole hold with no bail set. The men are due back in court today, Dec. 31.
Garzoli said that people on probation are subject to anytime search and seizure compliance while parole searches must be conducted with basic reason. He said that one of the men involved in Monday”s incident had been involved in an unrelated incident the week prior. “One of the men was involved in another incident last week, which gave deputies authorization to conduct a parole search for follow-up on that case,” he said.
