LAKEPORT — Those Clear Lake alumni basketball players still have game.
Two separate alumni teams beat the Clear Lake varsity boys on Saturday night during a fundraiser that brought in more than $500 for the school”s basketball program. There were a total of three games and all were two quarters long.
The Alumni A squad beat the varsity boys 46-37 behind 19 points from former Clear Lake standout Alan Romberg and another eight from Tommy Curry.
Also scoring for the alumni were Daniel Glazier with six points, Zack Hayes with five, Jeremy Hopkins with four, and Randy Sondag and Casey Dye with two each.
Corey Dillon”s 17 points paced the Clear Lake varsity and Ryan Richardson had 10.
The Alumni B squad also beat the varsity Cardinals 47-45 behind 13 points from Derek Reisbeck, 10 from Tom Andre and eight from Josh Taylor.
Other alumni scorers were Brad Pendleton with six points, Armando Martinez with five, Augie Perez with three and Zane Butler with two.
Richardson”s 15 points led the varsity and Dillon had 12.
In the match-up of alumni teams, the A team beat the B team 43-35. Romberg and Hopkins led the A squad with 11 points apiece. Martinez and Reisbeck led the B squad with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Reisbeck was voted the alumni MVP.
Clear Lake”s varsity squad is home tonight against Willits. Junior varsity tip-off is 5:30 p.m. with the varsity game to follow.
