As a child care provider in Lake County, we once again come to the letter telling us that because of the budget problems we may not receive our checks in March. After writing last year about this same subject, I wrote letters and made phone calls ,etc. Child Care helps keep parents working and provides safe, loving care for their children.
We are not baby sitters we are much more and deserve to be paid for what we do. If some families did not get assisted child care, they could not work! For some of us, this is our only income and our bill collectors expect us to pay our bills on time! We are not asking for something for nothing ? we are asking to be paid for what we do . I”ve been doing business for 20 years and can not believe that this is happening again!
Please write to your political reps and let them know that assisted child care is necessary and that providers of this service should be paid! Even our meal program is in question! How can you quibble about $ when it comes to children and their care?
