Effective Monday, January 26, 2009, the Lake County Record-Bee will be temporarily suspending its participation in the Topix commenting forums due to excessive and unwarranted abuses of the Topix Terms of Service (TOS) by users as well as numerous complaints from local readers and website visitors to www.record-bee.com.
Management will review the decision in the near future with Topix officials while also investigating other services that will allow for user interaction and feedback with better mechanisms for limiting offensive activities.
