GREATER KELSEYVILLE — One of Europe”s rising classical pianists makes a second appearance in Lake County on Saturday, Feb. 7, when Knut Erik Jensen appears in concert at Galilee Lutheran Church. The concert is sponsored jointly by Clear Lake Performing Arts (CLPA) and the Sons of Norway and members of both organizations are offered discounted admission. Jensen”s American tour has been partially underwritten by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Washington D.C.

In his first concert here two years ago, Jensen presented a program consisting entirely of music by Edvard Grieg, Norway”s premier composer. This time he”s broadened his repertoire to include more contemporary works including those by Geirr Tveitt, Christian Sending and David Monrad Johansen

His concert is entitled “Nordic Elegance,” which is also the title of his newest CD just released last month.

Jensen has won widespread acclaim in both Europe and the U.S. for the skill and sesiitivity that he brings to the piano. These should be in evidence as he plays CLPA”s Yamaha grand piano.

The concert starts at three pm and general admission is $20, with CLPA and Sons of Norway tickets at $15. CLPA members in particular should note that the concert is Saturday, rather than the usual Sunday date.

Following the concert attendees are invited to enjoy a buffet supper served by members of the Sons of Norway in the annex next door to the Galilee church.
