BARBARA KRISTIN VOORHIES, Ceramicist, began her studies in art as a student as UCSB where she became captivated by clay.? Currently, Voorhies teaches classes at Mendocino College & creates works at her home studio.? In addition to clay, she enjoys working on wood and metal sculpture, black and white photography and video production.? Voorhies” pieces in the show are selected from early work that emphasize texture, while the wheel thrown bowls and platter are examples of her current work featuring geometric surface designs.?
