The other five remaining Cougars, all 2-1 and in the consolation bracket, can finish as high as third place with solid showings today. They are James Lolonis at 103 pounds, Amos Burns at 152 pounds, Ben Britton at 160 pounds, Randy Dickinson at 189 pounds, and Brian Hatfield at 215 pounds.
With half of his 12 wrestlers making it to the final day of the two-day tournament, Upper Lake coach Tom Cox said he was thrilled with the Cougars” performance.
“Out of 65 teams here, we”re tied for 14th,” Cox said. “I”m really pleased.”
