UPPER LAKE — The Upper Lake High School Booster Club is holding a series of fundraisers to purchase stadium lights for the athletic field.

Upper Lake is the only high school in Lake County without stadium lights. The goal is to make the school the first in Lake County with solar-powered stadium lights.

The first major fundraiser takes place Saturday at the Sons of Italy Clubhouse. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. and go until 11 p.m. There will be a dinner, a silent auction and an indoor poker run. The Jim Williams band will be entertaining from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

One of the auction items is a Ronnie Cruz-autographed football. Cruz, a 2000 Clear Lake High School graduate, is a former Kansas City Chiefs fullback.

The buffet-style meal offers a choice of tri-tip or chicken marsala, green bean casserole, baked potatoes, salad, rolls, and dessert. Sons of Italy also will be providing a no-host bar. Tickets are $25 each or $250 for a table of eight.

Contact Joanne Breton at 275-0905 or 245-6077, or Ron and Pat Raetz at 275-2824 for tickets.
