VACAVILLE — The St. Valentine”s Massacre Wrestling Tournament was anything but for members of the Middletown Freestyle Wrestling Club last weekend in Vacaville.

Four of the 12 team members who participated brought home medals, including first-place medals won by Jacob Campos in the 6-and-under 70-pound division, and Blake Fredrickson in the 45-pound division for ages 7-8. Fredrickson won all five of his matches to bring home the gold.

Wyatt James claimed a third-place medal in the 11-12 division”s 112-pound class, and Aiden Emerson won a fourth-place medal in the 9-10 division”s 95-pound class.

More than 500 wrestlers age 14 and under participated in the tournament, which is one of the biggest freestyle tournaments in Northern California, according to Middletown coach Ronnie Campos Jr.

Wrestlers medaled down to six places in each division.

Middletown”s wrestlers are back in action Sunday when they travel to Forestville.
