This is regarding Beverly J. Owens letter to the editor on Feb. 3, 2009, concerning her friend”s experience with Dish Network. I too am having trouble with them.
In December, I contracted with them for television service. The technician could not get any kind of signals, so that canceled the contract and the technician took everything with him when he left, assuring me that I would not be charged anything.
On Dec. 30, Dish N.Y. took $79.99 from my credit card for service. On Jan. 5, Dish CO. took $244 from my credit card for a receiver I did not have. Now, on January 8, they took out $325 for what, I don”t know, as they”ve never sent me any kind of bill or paperwork explaining why.
Tracking down a human is nearly impossible, as is resolving the issue and getting my money back. I thought I had done so on the first two charges and was done with it. Now, I have this third charge on my card.
I hope I”ve settled this matter with Dish, but due to the lack of communication I”ve experienced thus far, I have my doubts. They should be reported and investigated. Perhaps a class action lawsuit would get their attention.
