UPPER LAKE — Closing out the season with a third straight victory, the Upper Lake High School junior varsity boys” basketball team rallied from a 31-17 halftime deficit to beat the Cloverdale Eagles 58-49 in a North Central League I South game on Tuesday in Upper Lake.
The Cougars (2-6 South) outscored the Eagles 41-18 in the second half.
“They really stepped it up in the second half,” Upper Lake coach Justin Dutcher said. “It was a heck of a way to finish.”
Tyler Warren scored 11 of his team-leading 19 points in the second half to spark the Cougars” comeback. Mark Umalin and Billy Armstrong finished with 10 points apiece.
Upper Lake”s season-concluding win included a 20-for-25 night at the free-throw line (Warren led the way by going 9-for-11).
