LAKE COUNTY — Oops!
Lake County”s all-time single-season scoring leader, Clear Lake”s Jenny Schaal, was omitted from a graphic that ran in Wednesday”s edition of the Record-Bee.
While the graphic was accurate for players who scored between 600-699 points in a single season, it omitted the county”s only 700-point-plus scorer, Schaal.
Schaal scored 710 points during the 1989-90 season while leading the Cardinals into the North Coast Section playoffs. In fact, Schaal scored nearly half of her career total of 1,485 points in her senior season alone. She averaged 26.3 points a game in 27 games for coach Wilbur Facey”s squad.
Schaal also played a significant role in Clear Lake”s playoff run in 1988-89, when coach Ron Jackson led the Cardinals to the Northern California Division V finals.
