KELSEYVILLE — The only team to beat Kelseyville High School in tennis last season didn”t come close on Friday. The Knights dispatched the Rincon Valley Christian Eagles 5-0 in the season opener for both teams at Kelseyville.
“RVC played a strong match,” Kelseyville coach Jeff McLaren said, “but we just played stronger.”
Kelseyville and Rincon Valley split their two matches last season.
In Friday”s action, Stuart Davy beat Kevin Klein 6-3, 6-1 in first singles, Moses Kuzu defeated Mae Bartholow 6-3, 6-4 in second singles, and Luke Kriken beat Erin Ferrarelli 7-6 (7-1), 6-3 in third singles.
In doubles play, David Ferrario and Andor Benyei beat Paul Fletcher and Joshua Marten 6-4, 6-4 in No. 1 doubles, and Glenn Mostin and Alex Stempe were 6-2, 6-4 winners over Ali Van Zandt and Cody Cantrell in No. 2 doubles.
