Jim Lyle, Lake County poet laureate from 2000-2002, will be one of the featured poets at “Calling for Light.” Lyle began writing poetry while living and working in Campbell. When he moved to Lake County, he started a poetry venue at the Lake County Arts Council gallery and was surprised to be appointed as Lake County”s first poet laureate by the Lake County Board of Supervisors. During his tenure he became good friends with James BlueWolf and Carolyn Wing Greenlee, the next two poets laureate, and together as “Poetrio,” they performed in many venues throughout Northern California. They had one trip to read in Southern California. Lyle has a published book of poetry, “Things Seen in the Desert,” and continues to write and read new poetry.
