In other action Friday:
Healdsburg 11, Lower Lake 1
At Healdsburg, a pair of dropped fly balls set up a four-run Healdsburg first inning and the Greyhounds went on to beat Lower Lake, snapping the Trojans” three-game winning streak.
Healdsburg had a 5-0 lead before the Trojans (3-3) broke through in the top of the fourth on a RBI single by Danielle McKay (2-for-2). The Greyhounds came back with two runs in the bottom of the inning and added four more in the fifth, at which point the game was called because of the 10-run rule.
Losing pitcher Kristen Garcia went the distance, allowed nine hits in 4 2/3 innings. She struck out five and walked four.
“I was happy with how Garcia pitched,” Lower Lake coach Tim Sherrell said. “She threw strikes.”
Besides McKay”s two hits, Darlena White had the only other Lower Lake hit.
After playing their first six games of the season in eight days, the Trojans are off until Thursday when they visit Calistoga. They return home the following day to play Calistoga in a doubleheader.
