LOWER LAKE ? An alleged high-risk sex offender, who was released from state prison five days ago, is being sought by local and state law officials. Stoney Martin Prior, 31, is being sought for violation of parole after he allegedly removed a GPS tracking bracelet from his ankle and reportedly disappeared.
Prior was released from prison on Thursday. He is believed to have cut the ankle bracelet from himself around noon on Friday in the area of Main Street in Lower Lake.
“We decided to put the information out because of the fact our citizens may end up seeing him somewhere in the area and will need to avoid him,” Clearlake Police Lt. Mike Hermann said. “We are also actively searching for him with all officers having a copy of his picture with them.”
According to the Megan”s Law Web site, Prior was convicted of assault with intent to commit rape, sodomy or oral copulation. He is described as being an American Indian male, 5-feet, 6-inches tall, weighing 150 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
Anyone with information regarding Prior”s whereabouts is asked to call local law enforcement at 994-8251 or the State Parole Office in Ukiah at 463-5713.
