CLEARLAKE – A new business was officially welcomed to town on March 6. The grand opening of X-Site Motosports on Lakeshore Drive in Clearlake was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony conducted by the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce.

Owners Robert and Dena Maninger are anxious to provide recreational services that were not previously available to the community locally. The shop specializes in ATV and off-road motorcycle sales and repair and offers a selection of motorcycle apparel, accessories and parts.

“The chamber of commerce has been really supportive and we appreciate all the members who came out to help us kick-off our business venture,” Dena Maninger said. “We hope X-Site Motosports will help keep some of Clearlake”s dollars in our city. There are a lot of motosport enthusiasts out there and now they can find what they need locally rather than traveling out-of-town to spend their money.”

X-Site Motorsports specializes in ATV and off-road motorcycle sales and repair. Robert Maninger has 18 years of experience in the field of mechanics and is extending his expertise to the community. “I”ve been a motosports enthusiast for nearly 20 years and it has been apparent to me that services for the sport are lacking in our area,” he said. “With 18 years as a mechanic specializing in recreational vehicles, we hope this venture will provide local support for a sport that is quite popular in our area.”

X-Site Motosports hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Tuesday, with Sunday hours of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information call the shop at 994-9748.

Chamber Executive Director Lori Peters said that the chamber is looking to the future with optimism in light of new businesses opening in Clearlake. “It shows that market is still growing and business is still moving forward,” she said. “It gives us hope that the county is moving forward as well.”

The chamber is preparing for a second ribbon cutting this month in celebration of new services offered at Serenity Place Business Park off of Ogulin Canyon Road, located in the northern area of Clearlake. The ribbon cutting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday March 27. The event will include games and prizes. A potluck will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a line dancing lesson at 7 p.m. and dancing until 10 p.m. No partner is needed to join in the lesson.

The Clear Lake Chamber will host its monthly dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday April 7 at Howard”s Grotto in Clearlake. Guest speaker will be Linda Gibson, vice president of operations at St. Helena Hospital Clearlake. For reservation please call 994-3600.
