WINDSOR — The Konocti Bay club volleyball team”s age-16 squad played for pinks — as in pink T-shirts — March 8 during a tournament in Windsor.

The AAU awards pink T-shirts to team champions at the end of each tournament and Konocti Bay was up to the task at Windsor, beating Nomar One 21-25, 26-24, 17-15 to take the title.

During morning pool play, Konocti Bay lost to Nomar One 25-20, 25-15 and beat Riverwest One 25-20, 25-15.

Later during bracket play, Konocti Bay defeated Nomar Two 25-19, 25-2 and Riverwest Two 26-16, 25-17 to earn another shot against Nomar One in the championship round.

Poor passing led to Konocti Bay dropping the first game in the best-of-three championship match, but Konocti Bay began to pick up its play in game two, pulling out a 26-24 win.

In the third and deciding game, Konocti Bay rallied from a 14-11 deficit behind Casey Graham”s consistent serving, Chelsea DeJohn”s setting, and the outside hitting of Ashley Mueller and Skyler Olsen to win 17-15.

The championship team included DeJohn, Mueller, Olsen, Gra-ham, Jennifer Green, Ty Van Housen, Amanda Ray, Kyra Rudnick, and Bonnie McCallister.
