LAKE COUNTY ? Clearlake Police Department received a report Wednesday regarding the possible whereabouts of high-risk sex offender who was recently reported to be at-large in the Lake County area.
Authorities have been searching for Stoney Martin Prior, 31, since March 13 after he reportedly removed an electronic tracking bracelet from his ankle in the area of Main Street, Lower Lake.
CPD Lt. Mike Hermann reported on Wednesday that information was received indicating that Prior may be in the area of Humbolt County Nevada and apparently has been for some time.
“He was reportedly picked up by family members in a blue van and brought to the area,” Lt. Hermann said. “Law enforcement officers in the area received information about him and located the vehicle last week. They are actively searching for him at this time.”
Hermann further reported that a press release to warn local citizens is being prepared and will be released by the sheriff”s department in Nevada.
According to the Megan”s Law Web site, Prior was convicted of assault with intent to commit rape, sodomy or oral copulation. Prior is described as being an American Indian male, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
