LAKEPORT ? A Sunday night fire among a pile of rubble on Mission Rancheria Road was extinguished quickly and without property damage or injury, according to Lakeport Fire Protection District Captain Bob Ray.

Ray said Big Valley Rancheria members were disassembling a mobile home that was gutted by fire in November, and had piled approximately two-thirds the 60-foot by 15-foot structure”s remaining walls and roof at one end.

“Somehow it caught fire and we were unable to find any witnesses who could lend any credibility to what was the cause was whatsoever,” Ray said.

Two Lakeport fire trucks and one from the Kelseyville Fire Protection District responded at 7:25 p.m. and extinguished the fire, according to Ray. He said no injuries were reported, and the only property damage was to an 8-foot section of fencing along the property.
