LOWER LAKE — Lower Lake High School teammates Tashee Denson and Darlena White won a combined five events during a Coastal Mountain Conference track meet on Wednesday in Lower Lake.
Middletown, Kelseyville and Upper Lake also attended the meet, which lasted nearly four hours. Even the starter”s gun ran out of blank rounds for the day”s final event, the varsity boys” 3,200-meter run.
Team scores were not available at press time.
In the girls” competition, Denson won both hurdle events — the 100 meters (13.47 seconds) and 300 (53.13) — as well as the long jump, where she cleared 14 feet, 8 ? inches.
“Tashee Denson was real impressive in the 300,” Lower Lake coach Andrew Carpenter said.
White topped the field with winning throws of 30-7 in the shotput and 88-10 ? in the discus.
Upper Lake”s Ashley Burns won the 1,600 (6 minutes, 30.6 seconds) and the 3,200 (14:37.4).
Varsity boys
Chris Lopez of Kelseyville sprinted past the leader in the final 100 yards of the 1,600 and 3,200 to win both events.
“Those were two pretty exciting races,” Kelseyville coach Rob Ishihara said.
Another Kelseyville athlete, Eddie Ledesma, won the 800 (2:17.5) and discus (132-9).

Clear Lake
At Calistoga, Clear Lake”s varsity boys, girls and junior varsity boys beat St. Vincent and Laytonville in dual scoring.
Seth Glazier and Cameron Donald won three events apiece in the varsity boys” competition, Glazier taking the 100 (11.63), 400 (45.08) and shotput (26-4), and Donald winning the 200 (29.38), long jump (17-3) and triple jump (31-10).
Teammate George Reyes added firsts in the 110 hurdles (20.,97) and the 300 hurdles (49.25). He also finished second in the 100.
For the Clear Lake girls, Anisa Green took home firsts in the 100 (13.94), high jump (4-6), long jump (14-10) and triple jump (33-11 ?).
The Cardinals 4×100 relay team of Kathleen O”Rourke, Erin O”Rourke, Crystal Wilcox and Kelsie Lawson came in first in 1:03.38. Wilcox, Lawson, Kari Copping and Casey McCarrick teamed up to win the 4×400.
Clear Lake also won both hurdle events — Copping in the 100 hurdles (22.17) and Wilcox in the 300 hurdles (1:01.22).
In JV boys” action, John Glazier won the 100, high jump and long jump, and Nick Carley took firsts in the 800 and triple jump.
Other winners were Brian Bradley (110 hurdles) and James McGann (1,600).
Lake County”s track teams are off next week for spring break and return to action April 15 at the Lake County Meet in Lakeport.
