LOWER LAKE — Fasten your seatbelts boys and girls because it could be a bumpy ride as well as a fun one tonight when the Harlem Wizards bring their unique brand of zany basketball to the new Lower Lake High School gym as they take on the Lake County All-Stars in a fundraiser basketball game beginning at 7 p.m.
Sponsored by Foods Etc. and Best Western, the game features the Wizards, who have been in existence since 1962, and their exciting collection of tricks, hoops and alley-oops. After five decades of thrilling fans, the Wizards are still packing gymnasiums all across the globe. See players such as former Harlem Globetrotter and New York City playground legend Arnold “A Train” Bernard and seven-time New York City dunk champion Lequan “The Jumpman” Castro.
More than 400 tickets already have been sold for the game and tickets will be on sale at the window tonight since Lower Lake”s new facility can accomodate more than 1,200 with ease. As an added perk, the first 200 students (kindergarten through sixth grade) who present their tickets at the door will receive a bag full of school supplies courtesy of Foods Etc.
