LAKEPORT — If you like singing, dancing, good old-fashioned love-at-first-sight and a bit of drama mixed with comedy, it”s not too early for you to mark your calendars for the best game in town: “Pajama Game!” Performances will be held May 7, 8, 10, 14, 15, 16 and 17 at the Little Theatre building at the Lake County Fairgrounds.
“Pajama Game,” based on the Richard Bissell novel “7 1/2 Cents,” is a rollicking musical comedy written by George Abbott and Richard Bissell with music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. Set in the 1950s at Sleep Tite Pajama Factory in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the play features some well-known songs like “Hey There,” “Steam Heat” and “Hernando”s Hideaway” and reminds us that though times change, issues that matter to people remain much the same ? like fair pay for a hard day”s work and honesty in relationships.
