I am writing in regard to some informational concerns that parents need to be aware of. What has been brought to my attention from a family member is that minors presently have access to buying over-the-counter medications which they have been consuming in massive amounts and the effects are like taking ecstasy.
The concern that I have is that there are stores in Lake County that have been notified of this and still choose not to place controls on selling these pills to minors. I would like to see all stores set up a policy to put the pills behind the counters like they do at many stores today.
This problem is gaining usage among children, as we speak. Everything needs to be done to prevent kids from doing this to themselves. I would like to address this issue countywide to bring it to the attention of all the parents out there.
